The Turbo Turd!
Following on from the previous post about our poorly car, here is what happened that weekend:
After getting our car sorted out at the garage, we then had to think about what to do for the rest of the weekend - without any transport, we couldn’t get the 50-or-so miles to the campsite to join my father. My father suggested we borrow his old camper, which he was selling after replacing it with a newer model.
We jumped at the offer, so Sunday morning we all piled in to the camper (affectionately known as the “Turbo Turd” - because it is a Turbo Deisel, and, well, it’s brown). As you can see from the photos below, the kids thoroughly enjoyed themselves (and so did the adults!), so much so that we offered to buy the camper off my father there and then!
We didn’t have anything with us to spend the night, so our first use of the camper “in anger” will be this coming weekend at the Kingsfold Steam Rally. I’ll let you know how it goes with a report after the event.
PS: And the car? Well, once we got it back from the garage, we went to use it and the gearbox locked up!
Back to the garage, and £1000 and 2 weeks later we have it back.
